SUMMER BREAK!!!
Okay, so a lot has happened since the last time I updated my blog. After my STAAR tests that I ranted about in my previous post, I went on this school trip to tour around the New England region. We went to many different places and I got to visit D.C and New York City. This trip was absolutely awesome and I really enjoyed going to all the different places. After my trip, school was basically over and all I had left was my 8th grade graduation ceremony. Since this was the school's first year, the graduation wasn't extravagant, but it was pretty amazing. We had a ceremony and, from that ceremony, I got four medals. Three of these medals were for getting commended on my algebra, science and history tests. The remaining medal was for having perfect attendance, which I didn't even knew I had. After the ceremony, we left the school in a bus and went to the church that I would be attending at this year. After arriving at the church, we spent a couple of hours just hanging out and meeting some of our high school teachers. Then summer came. To be completely honest, I spent half the summer doing absolutely nothing. My days were spent doing only three things: eating, sleeping and watching TV. Around mid-July, my family and I went on a trip to Chicago to visit my grandparents and uncles. The three weeks we spent there were really fun. We did a ton of shopping while we were there. I really had fun this summer and I really can't wait till next summer. Maybe we'll spend more time in Chicago next time. ADIOS!!!!

Update!!!
Okay, so it's been a while since I've posted, but I've got a legitimate reason as to why. For the past month, my teachers all simultaneously agreed to double up the homework and make us study harder. It doesn't help that we've got STAAR tests in the spring, but obviously that doesn't matter. Usually this time of the school year, I get really bored because we barely do anything and we just study for STAAR tests. Sadly, this new district doesn't share the same ideas as my previous district. Today, I had to take my English I EOC (End-of-course) test. The test took me four and a half hours to complete in our five-hour time limit. I was absolutely shocked at how different the seventh grade test was and the EOC. This test contained 63 multiple-choice questions, 3 short answers and 1 essay. I'm absolutely glad that we were given a five-hour limit cause I wouldn't of finished the test on time in four hours. Another good thing that's coming up is that it's almost Good Friday. Supposedly, this day is so important that we get to have a student holiday at my school, so I've got no school on Friday!!! Well, I guess this is all that's going on right now, but we get to pick our high school classes soon so I'll post again soon. Hasta luego, mis amigos!!!!

Last Day of Break :(
Today was the last day of break and I'm utterly saddened by how fast it went. I really had am awesome break. My mom, sisters and I went shopping more the once throughout the break. I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas, Hanukkah, etc. and an even better New Years.

UPDATE!!!
Wow! It's been a really long time since I've been on my blog. I really hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving, I know I did. The menu at my house was turkey, chicken dressing, sweet potatoes, collard greens, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, pumpkin bread pudding, and cherry pie. My family and I had an awesome time just cooking and spending our time together. School, on the other hand, has been really easy. Even though I'm in 8th grade and take some high school courses, my English I and Algebra I classes have been my easiest classes. Math for me has always been easy, so doing it repetitively helps me learn it quicker and now I'm a math tutor. In English, we just started reading George Orwell's Animal Farm and this has been no struggle for me. I mean, I love to read and the book is funny, so reading this book isn't hard for me. My Chinese and Spanish classes are alright. I'm learning these languages consecutively, so I just have to pay attention and study in those classes. US History isn't hard when you have a history-freak/lover for a mom. Science is probably going to be the downfall for me. I have an A in that class, but that doesn't mean I get what I'm doing. Science just doesn't make sense to me. Math, unlike science, is perpetual. It just doesn't change. There aren't any 'theories' or 'hypothesis' in math. It's consistent and never changes, unlike science. Anyways, I just hope that everyone has a great rest of the month and hope that they have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or whatever you celebrate.

Mini-Winter Break!
Today was the first day we got back to school. From being stuck in a house with all of my sisters and parents, I was happy to be back in school. With my family and I living in the more rural part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan, the ice on the roads weren't helping. Last Thursday, the district cancelled all after-school programs, games, and Saturday school. This was our first notice to say that basically school was out for the rest of the week. I can truthfully say that I was happy that we had a small break from school before our Christmas break. We were scheduled to have our first basketball pep-rally during first period. Pep-rallies in the morning is one thing that I absolutely do not like. I am not a morning person, so mixing in a pep-rally that's supposed to make us all happy and cheery doesn't mix well with me. So, my weekend went from a two-day weekend to a three-day weekend. My weekend turned into a five-day weekend when the "wonderful mini-vacation" turned into an "everlasting nightmare." I had to stay with my family. For FIVE days! The weekend is enough and even then I'm not with them much, that's probably because about half of the day I spent sleeping in my bed ;) Coming back to school made me so happy because not only did I get to see my friends, but I got to actually go outside. I hope that this ice and snow melts away before the beginning of next week.

UPDATE!!!
OH MY GOSH! Since the last time I've posted, I've been busy with homework! I forgot all about my blog and feel so bad. I haven't posted for almost a whole month. School has been really hard for me with all of the homework and having to work around my schedule. With basketball tryouts coming up, I've been working my butt off trying to get my school work done. After that, I have to start getting ready for Thanksgiving. Some family are coming over and I really need to clean my room. I can't wait till Thanksgiving Break!
